Oreo Vanilla Cheesecake

Warning! This is not a healthy cheesecake!

I had the idea of making a cheesecake because my mum told me to use up the tubs of Philadelphia. I love Oreo's so thought why not?! It's pretty simple to be honest and didn't take too long either (minus chilling time)!

Ingredients:
240g Oreo original cookies
40g butter, melted
350g Philadelphia original
100g caster sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 sachet (11g) powdered gelatine
A few fresh strawberries/any decoration you fancy
A few extra oreo's for decoration

 How to make the cheesecake:

First measure out all of your ingredients before you start everything (trust me it makes everything a whole lot easier) :-)

Place 160g of the oreos in a food processor to create a fine crumb. Melt the butter in a saucepan then once melted add the crushed oreos and mix together.

Press the mixture into an 18 cm spring form tin (I didn't have one as you can see so just make do with what ever small round tin you can find! Just make sure it has a removable base)

Roughly chop the remaining 80g oreos and set these aside for later.

Put 3 table spoons of water in a small basin (I used a small glass bowl) and sprinkle on the gelatine. Stand the basin over the saucepan of hot water and heat gently until dissolved.

Beat together the Philly, sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. Then fold in the yoghurt.

(Be careful with the next step as the bowl will still be hot) Stir in the gelatine!

Stir the oreos you prepared earlier through the filling and then pour the mix over the biscuit base.

Use a palette knife or a spatula to smooth the mixture then place in the fridge for 3 hours or until set.

Take out of the fridge and decorate however you like! Get creative and melt chocolate or pipe various chocolate, add chocolate buttons, raspberries, smarties, it could be anything!

Hope you liked this post, let me know what you think!
